With the start of the high school football season less than two months away, the Clinton Arrow Touchdown Club’s annual membership drive is under way.
The Clinton High Arrows open their season August 22 on the road at Pearl. The following week, CHS will return to Arrow Field to host Ridgeland for the first of six home games this year.
“We are excited about the upcoming season, and we have a very good home schedule with six home games,” said Arrow Touchdown Club president Benjie Barham.
Barham said there are several options for the 2014 memberships to support the football team.
The Big Red Arrow Membership option includes 2 season tickets in the reserved section as well as reserved parking near the stadium, recognition in the football program, and Arrow Touchdown Club membership. Ad packages and radio packages are also available.
Arrow Touchdown Club membership does not include the season tickets, but includes special recognition the game program. Members are eligible to buy season tickets through the school in the reserved section when they go on sale in August.
Proceeds from the Touchdown Club dues go to benefit the football team. Game day meals and extra travel expenses are provided by the Arrow Touchdown Club, not from school funding.
Also over the past year, major purchases of weight equipment have been made for the Arrows. New weight equipment installation began last spring and is now nearing competition at the Arrow field house. The old equipment was split up between the Sumner Hill ninth-grade facility and Clinton Junior High’s field house at Roy Burkett Field.
“We are very happy as a booster club to help fund these projects,” said Barham. “This helped Clinton High get caught up to modern equipment and provides equipment needed for the Clinton Junior High and Sumner Hill.
“We’re hoping to grow our community involvement in the Big Red Arrow Membership and support for Clinton High Football,” said Barham.
The deadline for Big Red Arrow membership and Arrow Touchdown membership is July 15. For an application or information, contact Barham at 601-421-4060.
